Sydney is in full swing with the toddler stage and sweet moments are sometimes few and far between. This afternoon while I was attempting to put her down for a nap she didn't want to go so I was pretending to sleep so maybe she would too. A few minuets later she grabbed one of her blankets and put it on me and then started rubbing my tummy saying night night Mommy. It was so sweet. I couldn't help but "wake up" and smile.
She has also started saying I love you Mommy (or anyone) unprompted. In the mornings before work she will say Mommy work, kissy, and I love you Mommy. It is way to sweet.
A few other things she has been doing lateley is saying Bless you after someone sneezes all by herself. She is also learning her ABC's, she will repeat them after you but when she tries to do it by herself it comes out ABCR HI OP ST WZ. Obviously she needs to work on filing in the blanks but it is just so darn hilarious.
With her 2nd birthday approaching I am starting to realize that she is growing up and will not stay my baby forever. I know this time would come but it is just going by so darn fast.

It's Official
June 19 was Nathan's official last day in the Army. It is a little bittersweet because that is all we had known for the past few years but it is sure nice to have a husband and a father.
Even though I have been back here for six months I am still waiting to return to Ft. Polk, I know it sounds funny but things won't get normal again until we are finally settled, and who knows when that will be. Nathan has gone on a few interviews recently and we are just waiting to hear back from them. I am still temping and staying fairly busy so at least we have some money coming in. We are still optimistic that everything will work out soon, I am just very antsy and want a house of our own.
Farewell to the Army and good luck to all of our friends still in. I will miss being an Army wife.

Woodland Park Zoo
A few weeks ago Uncle Matt took all of us to the big Woodland Park Zoo up in Seattle. We had a lot of fun seeing zebras, giraffes, hippos, bears, lions, penguins, monkeys and many many more.
I think the highlight of the day was when Syd got to feed a giraffe leaves and apple pieces. For the next week she kept saying apple when we talked about the giraffe.
The zoo is also home to a new penguin exhibit so it was fun to watch the waddle and swim.
They also had a very realistic bear exhibit that had a campsite in it and the bear was eating a boot. We all were wondering where the campers went and if that was Seattle's response to the homeless population. :)
At the end of the day Syd got a stuffed river otter to take home because that Matt's favorite animal at the zoo. She also got a cute shirt. Thanks Uncle Matt for taking us to the zoo!

Goodbye Old Friend
Today we took Henry to the vet to be put to sleep. This is something we have been discussing for a while and finally decided to because his intestinal issues were getting worse and he was down to a little over seventeen pounds. Even eating puppy food for two he was still losing weight. We felt it was the only thing that we could do for him. He will be dearly missed. Everyone took a turn to say goodbye, even Syd blew him a kiss and said "Bye puppy." He was a wonderful dog that gave a lot of love for the three years he was with us. Nathan took him inside and stayed with him through the procedure so that he wasn't alone in the end. We took him to Nathan's parents house where Nathan buried him with two other dogs that he had growing up. It's nice to know that even in death Henry is with family. We love you buddy, and hope you're in a better place.

Happy DTV Transition Day

Today is the day that all analog TV's will no longer work. Most everyone I know is not effected by the switch and will continue to enjoy all of the great shows. Unfortunately my mom and Brad are effected. They have put up a new antenna that rotates so they can get certain channels, but have only had some success. They live out in the middle of no where and some of the signals do not reach them so only time will tell if it works. I think they are going to have to call Dish Network or DirecTV. Oh well enough about that. Good bye analog TV and hello to digital.
Rear Facing Car Seats Until Age 4???
Today was my day off this week and I love to watch GMA in the morning when I get a chance and this morning they had a story on there that I thought was interesting. Apparently there is a new study from Brittan showing that kids should ride in a rear facing car seat until age four. I understand the reasoning especially when they show the crash test dummy video. When I turned Syd around a year ago her little feet were already touching the back seat so I don't know how comfortable that would be for her or any child. Nathan and I are going to discuss it, but he already told me he doesn't want her dirty shoes rubbing on the seats of his truck. I just thought I would share the info and all of you with little ones can make your own decision.

My step brother Cameron graduated tonight from high school. This makes me feel very old, but oh well, I guess that's life. Congratulations Cam and good luck with the future.

We knew it would happen...
Well the minute Nate came home we knew it was only a matter of time before Sydney learned the big F word. I kept waiting for my sweet little baby to say it and it finally happened, but it wasn't Daddy who provoked it, it was Aunt Becca! I guess that means Nate is off the hook but Becca will hear about it for a while. Thanks again!! :)
Happy Birthday Adam!

Let the season begin...
I just thought I would take a minute to officially welcome hurricane season and gloat that we are are not there. To everyone living near the Atlantic, good luck. The list of names for possible storms this year is out and hopefully none of you will have to hear, see, or deal with them. Good luck and remember you are not a chicken if you evacuate!
