First Hair Cut!

Well I am sure everyone has noticed that in most of the recent pictures of Sydney there is a bow in her hair. We were trying to prolong the big first hair cut until Daddy came home but the bangs were getting way to long and driving Syd nuts, so we decided to get them cut.

We went to a place called Totally Awesome Kids Cuts and it was very cute. Sydney got to sit in the police car and watched part of Finding Nemo. She enjoyed the experience and did not want to leave. Gramie and Aunt Becca came with us to help document the special event. We only cut her bangs so the rest of it can grow out. She is even more adorable now and we can even see her eyes. :)

So excited to get her first hair cut!
Sitting so still like a big girlWatching herself in the mirror to make sure she looks good!

All done and very cute!

Meow Boots

Sydney's Aunt Becca bought her some very adorable Hello Kitty boots a few weeks ago and she absolutely LOVES them. She calls them her "Meow Boots". It is so fun to watch because she can take them on and off all by herself. Thanks again Aunt Becca!

18 Month Check Up

This morning Sydney had her 18 month well baby check up. It also happened to be our first off post visit. It was sure nice not having to wait weeks and weeks for an appointment. We saw a very nice nurse practitioner. Sydney is now 30 inches long and 21.7 lbs (5-10th percentile). There was no doubt that she was going to be short so neither the Dr. or us are worried. Her head circumference is 47 cm and right where it should be.

She was enjoying the visit until those nasty shots came. As usual she screamed and fought us but she bounced back quick to her happy self when it was all over. Hopefully we don't have to go back and see the Dr. until the 24 month appointment, but only time will tell if the mysterious fever comes back. I am hoping that the Washington air will make that never come back.

Random pics of Sydney

It has been a long time coming but here are some more pics of Syd.

Happy Birthday Chelsea!

Last Sunday my step sister Chelsea turned 21. I was able to spend part of the day with her so she knows we wish her a happy birthday. I waited until she sent me some pictures from the day before I posted it. So Chelsea even though this is a week late you know we love you and were happy to spend your birthday with you.

Chelsea and her boyfriend (who Sydney loves to flirt with)
Chelsea and my brother, sister in law and their kids
With my Dad and Michele
Duh.. That's me and Chelsea
With her second drink (she drank the first one before the cameras came out)

Happy Valentines Day!

We just wanted to tell everyone Happy Valentines Day and tell Nathan that we miss and love him very much. It sucks that even though he is in the country we are still not together. He did however send me a very cute bracelet. Thanks sweetie so much. I will post a few pictures later today of Syd in her V-Day shirt. She also ate cheerios with milk today for the first time like a big girl. :)

Poo Poo

Exciting News... Sydney went poo poo in the potty!!!! We are starting to get a little more serious about potty training her these days so this is a big milestone. We clapped and cheered and she was beaming.

If you remember a few months back we started getting used to the potty and basically played with it. The past month or so she has stopped and squatted when she is going potty so we knew it was time to try it again.

Oh and a little tip for all of you that will be heading in the same direction soon with your little one, don't buy the potty that sings. She thinks it is a toy and just wants to play. I had to turn off the sounds so it isn't so entertaining.

Oh and sorry no pictures, I like to take them but I am not Kate from Jon and Kate plus eight

Random Items

Well I know we like to post things that are new or interesting so I thought I would share a few things that we have gotten this week.

Sydney got her first Flinstone vitamins this week and she loves them, she always asks for more when she is done (but she only gets one a day). I didn't even know they made them for toddlers but they do. She sucks it for a minute and then chews it up. The package says age two to three, but if your little one has enough teeth it should be just fine for them too. For those of you who know I am kinda a vitamin freak so naturally I wanted Syd to have them too.

The next thing is a toothbrush sanitizer. I have a sonicare that has a sanatizer built into the charger but I needed one that would fit Sydney's toothbrush. She is a great brusher but also likes to put it on the ground or rinse it off in the bath water (YUK!) So I found this Zapi ultraviolet light sanitizer and it is great. It also comes in different colors.

I joined a Gym!

Well I figured it was time to get serous again about getting in shape so I joined LA fitness. It is brand new in our area. It has a pool, a lot of equipment, and my favorite aerobics classes. I have been going with my step mom Michele to a few classes and it has been fun. I will have to admit though that I am a little sore after yesterdays workout. Wish me luck!

Happy Birthday Lainey!

Happy Birthday Lainey! Today my niece (Sydney's cousin) turns 4! If you remember we went to her birthday party on Saturday. We had a lot of fun. Sydney enjoyed pushing Lainey's baby carriage around and playing with Mavericks matchbox cars. She got a lot of great gifts including a brand new big girl bike. I am glad we could be at your party and now that we are back in the state we will definitely see you more often. Enjoy the day sweetie!

I Feel 16 Again...

I finally got my car and after a week and a half I feel like I have a new found freedom. I was starting to get a little depressed without it. Having to depend on people to take you places kinda sucks. It reminded me of getting my drivers license, hence the title of this post. It made a long journey from Louisiana to Washington and the truck hauling it actually broke down twice. It is very nice having it back, but now I am still dealing with the company because they accidentally charged me double the cost. It seems the headache never ends.

Nice and filthy! It was nice and clean when they picked it up.
