House

I finally had people come look at the house today. I was very excited about it because they told me they were very interested and already pre-approved for the loan. About a half hour after they left they made an offer on the house, but it was way way way to low. I countered and am now waiting to see if they respond. I really don't know if they will. I am writing this to vent and ask for your good thoughts and prayers. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Today is Thanksgiving and we are thankful for so many things. The first thing I am thankful for is my beautiful little girl Sydney. She has been the center of my world, especially since Nate has been gone. I am also thankful to Nathan and all of the other men and women who are fighting for our country.

We started today off making an apple pie and Sydney got to help. We also watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Sydney loved it and danced around the living room. After that we went down to Aprils house for dinner. It was so delicious. When we finished stuffing our faces we changed into our PJ's and watched Christmas movies all afternoon.

Last year I made Sydney a turkey hand so we had to make another one to continue the tradition. It was a good day, but could have been better if Nathan was here with us. We missed you so much!!

12 Lonley Months...

Today is officially the one year anniversary since Nathan deployed. It isn't the typical happy day of other anniversaries instead it is filled with boredom and loneliness. The only exciting thing is, that the end is in sight. We love you Nate and have missed you since the minute we left you at Fort Polk. Happy Deploymentversary. (a new word for the day) :)

2008 Apple Cup

Well many of you know Nathan and I have a friendly rivalry when it comes to the Apple Cup. I of course am rooting for The University of Washington and Nathan is for Washington State University.

Saturday night was this years game and from what I hear it was a pretty close game. In the end WSU ended up winning 16-13 in double overtime. We always make a little wager and since Nate is not here to decide what he gets I decided to swallow my pride and put Sydney is a WSU outfit. It is a little big but she did not mind.

Don't get confused sweetie this is only for Daddy and we know which team you really love.

What does your dog say about you...

Nathan sent me this link earlier today from Yahoo with the description of typical beagle owners... You are inquisitive and willing to learn new things. The Beagle is constantly questioning. If you own one of these dogs, chances are you are a curious, willful person who is loyal to friends, tough on enemies and pretty stubborn.

I also found another site that listed a variety of dogs. Some of them were pretty right on. The one that caught my eye was for the Pomeranian. It is the perfect match for Doug. :)

XOXO Daddy

This morning Sydney was saying Daddy and Da Da a lot so we got a picture with him in it and let her give him kisses and hugs. We have done it a few times, but today I had the camera handy to capture the sweet moment. We are hoping that shortly after the new year we should be giving real hugs and kisses to Daddy. Keep your fingers crossed.

Sydney's Got Back

Tonight we went to April's house for her famous chili. Sydney enjoyed it so much she was moved to put on a little show for us. This is her after dinner dancing around in nothing but her diaper. This is HILARIOUS!!! The camera is moving a little because I was dancing with her to keep her going and laughing my butt off so it was pointless to try and steady it.
Enjoy and be prepared to laugh a lot!

She has come a long way with the dancing since the last video.

Sydney's Weekend Adventure

Sydney had a great weekend. She really didn't even seem like she missed Mommy at all. When I picked her up she was just smiling and flirting with Miss Rhonda's son. They did a lot of fun things including going to church. She went to a Baptist church on Sunday with the family and was very well behaved. Here are a few pictures from the fun weekend. Thanks again Jessica and Rhonda for taking her for me. Even though I missed her I think it was good for both of us.

All Alone...

Well tonight I am missing Sydney. My office manager and her family offered to take her for most of the day and the night. I was excited at first because that means I get to sleep in and just be baby free for a night.

Let's just say it is OK but nothing spectacular. I miss her so much. It is strange that the normal routine is different. I went to turn on the monitor and got a little sad that she wasn't here.

OK enough of me babbling. It is nice for Mom's to get a break but it will be different when Nate is home and I am not going home to an empty cold house. April and I did get a daiquiri from Frozen Spirits, but I only drank about a quarter of it and now am ready for bed. At least I will get to sleep in but Sydney won't because she has to get up and go to church in the morning.

Here are your pictures Daddy!

These are pictures taken from the past few days...

Cute Sydney Pics

Here are just a few pics of Sydney. Thanks to Gramie and Grandpa for sending the cool snowman. She liked it so much Mommy had to take it away, she kept trying to eat the jingle ball on the hat. Silly baby.
Tasting the leftover pudding that Mommy had (it is sugar free for anyone who cares)

Thanks Gramie for the snowman, but I think the box is way cooler. :)

Cheating Wives

This post is just me venting about Army wives who cheat. In the past week I have encountered more of this and it is just personally ticking me off.

One of our neighbors husband has been deployed for only 2 months and in this time his wife has found a new "love". They apparently met at Wal Mart and she has decided to divorce her husband and move in with him. They have been married for thirteen years and she has just thrown it all away.

Another encounter I have had this week was a patient who was all lovey dovey with a gentleman (who looked like a soldier). Come to find out that her husband has been deployed for over a year now. They have two children together and it didn't even seem like she cared.

The thing that ticks me off the most is Nathan has been gone for just about a year now and I have had absolutley NO problem staying faithfull. How can someone cheat on their husband while he is getting shot at. Women like that are horrible.

Happy Veterans Day!!!

We just wanted to let all of our favorite veterans know we were thinking about you today. We cannot thank you enough for the service you have or are currently doing for our country. A very special Thank You to Nathan (Daddy). We miss you very much but know what you are doing is important.

Sydney Update

The fever finally broke Friday morning and has not come back since! She is definitely feeling better because she is getting into all sorts of trouble and throwing huge tantrums. The one problem that we are still having is vomiting and diarrhea. Sorry for the gross topics but for the past three days I have basically been living in, cleaning up, and smelling puke. YUK!!! If I didn't love her so so much this would be a hard task to do.

I decided to stop giving her the augmentin that she was on because I am almost positive that is what is causing the tummy issues. If she continues to feel bad then we will be calling the doctor on Monday. Wish us luck.

I want everyone reading this to Thank their Mothers for going through all of this stuff for us. I know I sure appreciate mine more.

Letter To Daddy

Dear Daddy,

I have not been feeling well the past week and have really been missing you. Mommy says that when you come home you will cuddle and console me like she does. I have not been around you much since I became a big girl but I can't wait to play chase with you, peek a boo, and my favorite game -find the puppies.

Mommy says that you don't want to help with the gross things like changing my diapers, cleaning up when I get sick, or giving me baths but I would really appreciate it if you do. I want to spend as much time as I can with you. We have a lot to catch up on and that will only bring us closer.

One more thing, Mommy has been working really hard this past year raising me all by herself and I know she would love for you to do something special for her when you come home. I know she has things planned for you too. Just please don't tell her I gave you the idea, I want it to be a surprise.

I miss you so much and cannot wait for the day when I get to run into your arms. I love you very much Daddy and I know you will be the greatest one EVER!

Love always,
Sydney

Sydney Says

Just wanted to tell anyone who looks at the Sydney Says part of the blog that I will only be putting the new words or phrases on there. The list was getting to long. I don't know if anyone cares but I thought I would inform you. Have a great night.

Chatter Box

Another ER Trip

First of all I don't want everyone to think that I run Sydney to the ER every time she gets sick. When you are in the Army (or at least Ft. Polk) you can never get into the doctor, the only option they give you is the ER if you want to be seen.

Well, Sydney has had a 102-104 degree fever since Monday, she wasn't eating, and barley drinking. Last night the fever got high again and the advice nurse told me to bring her in. When we got to the ER her fever had spiked to 105 degrees. I think we all were a little alarmed by that. They brought us right back and started a variety of fun tests. They took a chest X-ray, sucked snot out of her nose for an RSV test, took blood, gave her an IV to give her some fluids, and basically did everything they could to tick her off. All of the tests came back negative so the only explanation they gave me was an ear infection and teething combo, even though they said that wouldn't cause the fever to be that high. I don't know what caused it but it sure wasn't over yet.

When we got home I gave her the first dose of antibiotics like they told me too and about 30 min. later she had threw it up all over her crib. I went to get her and then she threw the rest of it up all over Mommy. Motherhood is such a joy isn't it. :) I finally got her to sleep, but when she woke up in the morning she could still not keep anything down and her fever was rising. It took hours until she could even hold water down. I was starting to get worried and the advice nurse (Tracy, a very nice person) was trying to help us out. She finally ate and drank without getting sick. So far all is well. Her fever still comes back when the Motrin/Tylenol wears off but I am hoping that it ends soon.

All in all our experience was much better this time then in the past. I want to thank April for going with me because without her I think I might have gone nuts. It is hard to watch your child hurting, especially when I was the one holding her down.

We also want to tell Aiden that we hope he feels better soon too. It seems he may have the mystery illness too. Good Luck Krystin!

Sorry this is so long, but part of this is to inform everyone who cares and the other part is so Mommy can vent and get things off her chest. Thanks!

Election Day Pics/Sick Again

With today being Election Day Sydney was of course dressed in red, white, and blue.

With all the festivities she decided to get sick again to add more fun to the day. It seems to be the same thing as a few weeks ago. Her fever stays from 102-104 degrees and she just looks miserable. The one thing that irritates me about it all again is the fact that I can't get her into the doctor. I left two messages with the advice nurse and she never called me back.

I just keep telling myself that we only have a few more months in the Army and then we will hopefully have more access to a pediatrician for Sydney. Thanks for letting me rant yet again about Army Doctor's.

Patriotic, sleepy, and miserable
Anxious to find out who will win

Election Day 2008

With this being Sydney's first election day I wanted to commemorate it by taking pictures of her with the campaign signs that are posted throughout our neighborhood, but Daddy said that would be way to cheesy. So now all you get is a quick post to remind everyone that if you are registered to vote and have not already done so please go out and do it.

This is a direct quote from Nate this morning in response to me telling him Happy Election Day: "oh yeah, they day America f***s itself for another 4 years"

Please Vote so this doesn't happen!
