Empty House

Just a quick update on the house. The packers were here Monday and Tuesday and today they hauled all of our household goods away. It was a little sad to watch everything drive away, but after six hours with the movers here I was just really wanting them to leave. So far we have had one casualty. The stand that holds our TV lost a leg. :( We will definelty have to file a claim when we get settled.

They moved our closing date back to Monday because the attorney took today off and they needed something from him. Oh well, it saves me money and time in a hotel. I have a few pictures of Syd and all of the boxes but I do not have my camera. April has been great with the move she has watched Syd for me many times, let me use her computer, and fed us dinner. Thanks April. We will keep everyone posted. Happy New Year!

Compare

I personally think Sydney is looking more and more like me everyday. While I was packing I found this picture of me when I was little, look at both and compare them. There is no doubt that she looks like Nathan but she needs to have some of my features too.

We have the same nose and the same dimple on one side. :) Can you find any thing else?

Syd's Second Christmas

This was Sydney's second Christmas and unfortunitly Daddy was not here for this one either. Here are a bunch of pictures to give him and everyone an idea of how her day went. I think she enjoyed it.

We spent Christmas Eve at the Pineda house and then drove around and looked at Christmas lights. This morning she opened her presents and helped Mommy get ready for the day. We had a fun day at Aprils eating, visiting, and watching movies. Merry Christmas and Thank You to everyone who sent us cards, gifts, well wishes, and called us. We appreciated them all.

Merry Christmas!!

With everything that has been going on this Christmas just seems like another day to us. We have no tree, no decorations, no lights, and no Daddy. We will have to make up for it next year, I am already preparing Nathan so there is no complaining. :)

Sydney Meets Santa

Today we went and had Christmas pictures taken and then stopped to meet Santa. The portrait studio was running very behind so Sydney ended up not wanting to be there at all. By the time we went to see Santa she had had enough. She was having fun waiving at him but as soon as she sat in his lap she screamed and wiggled out of his arms. Needless to say Mommy had to get in the picture to make it worth standing in line for 45 min. It is not that great so this may be the only time everyone sees it. :)

I was not prepared for a Santa picture or maybe I would have worn something festive

Packing

With our closing date quickly approaching we have begun packing the house. The first thing we tackled was emptying the attic. My office managers son came over to help me because there was no way I could have done that by myself. Thanks Caleb. Sydney had fun helping too. She tried to get into everything and escape from the garage. We close on the house January 2, we have a lot to do but it will be nice to have it DONE!

Letter From Santa

Sydney got a letter from Santa the other day. It was so great to see that even during his busy season he had time to send her a letter. Santa is just too nice. Thank You Michelle and the Alvin Parks and Recreation Department for thinking of her. :)

Pictures of the Week

Here are a few pictures from this week. The Manchester United hoodie is from Daddy if you couldn't guess. It was an early Christmas present. Thanks Daddy! You will also see one of her new favorite places...the laundry hamper. She tried to climb in it the other day so I put her in there and she loved it. Silly Sydney.

Go Man U (Thanks again Daddy)
She loves those boots!
She climbed in the tub while Mommy was taking a bath and the camera was handy. :)

I see you...

WA Snow

The past few weeks it has been cold and snowy back in Washington. I just thought I would give everyone who isn't there and frozen an idea of what Sydney and I are going back to.

Pictures of the Week

Here are more pictures of our beautiful Sydney. I hope these are just what you need Nate to help you make it the next month or so until we get to see you. :)

Snow Day!!!

The strangest thing happened today in Louisiana...It Snowed!!! They were saying yesterday that there was a small chance we could see some but nobody believed them because this is the South. This morning we woke up to a little snow, just enough to cover everything and make it pretty. Of course with this being an oddity here most of the schools were closed and things seemed to "shut down".

The weather has been so crazy this week, Tuesday we had a huge storm roll through that brought so much rain it was literally a foot or two deep in certain places. If I would not have driven Nathan's truck I would have been stuck for sure.

Getting ready to lick the snow!
Warm and Cozy
It had already begun to melt and rain when we got out there so Sydney did not get to play in it. :(

Can you believe this is the most "SNOW" Southwest Louisiana has gotten since 1989???

Sorry the pics are so big, but I am too lazy to change the size and wait for them to upload again. :)

Great Spoon!

I know we like to share neat things for the kids so I got this at a Holiday bazaar a few weeks ago and it is wonderful. Sydney can now feed herself so much better then before. It is called My Spoon and it is curved for right handed and left handed kids.

The hardest thing was was trying to make sure which hand she actually used. We have come to the conclusion that Syd is definetly right handed.

SOLD

Well it took a week but we finally came to an agreement on price for the house. Nathan and I are just relieved that it sold without a real estate agent. Thank you everyone for your good thoughts. Everyone in Washington expect Sydney, myself, Linus, and Henry home in the middle of January. YEY!!!!! Now comes the stress of doing this all by myself, working, and with a toddler!
Wish me luck!!!

House

I finally had people come look at the house today. I was very excited about it because they told me they were very interested and already pre-approved for the loan. About a half hour after they left they made an offer on the house, but it was way way way to low. I countered and am now waiting to see if they respond. I really don't know if they will. I am writing this to vent and ask for your good thoughts and prayers. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Today is Thanksgiving and we are thankful for so many things. The first thing I am thankful for is my beautiful little girl Sydney. She has been the center of my world, especially since Nate has been gone. I am also thankful to Nathan and all of the other men and women who are fighting for our country.

We started today off making an apple pie and Sydney got to help. We also watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Sydney loved it and danced around the living room. After that we went down to Aprils house for dinner. It was so delicious. When we finished stuffing our faces we changed into our PJ's and watched Christmas movies all afternoon.

Last year I made Sydney a turkey hand so we had to make another one to continue the tradition. It was a good day, but could have been better if Nathan was here with us. We missed you so much!!

12 Lonley Months...

Today is officially the one year anniversary since Nathan deployed. It isn't the typical happy day of other anniversaries instead it is filled with boredom and loneliness. The only exciting thing is, that the end is in sight. We love you Nate and have missed you since the minute we left you at Fort Polk. Happy Deploymentversary. (a new word for the day) :)

2008 Apple Cup

Well many of you know Nathan and I have a friendly rivalry when it comes to the Apple Cup. I of course am rooting for The University of Washington and Nathan is for Washington State University.

Saturday night was this years game and from what I hear it was a pretty close game. In the end WSU ended up winning 16-13 in double overtime. We always make a little wager and since Nate is not here to decide what he gets I decided to swallow my pride and put Sydney is a WSU outfit. It is a little big but she did not mind.

Don't get confused sweetie this is only for Daddy and we know which team you really love.

What does your dog say about you...

Nathan sent me this link earlier today from Yahoo with the description of typical beagle owners... You are inquisitive and willing to learn new things. The Beagle is constantly questioning. If you own one of these dogs, chances are you are a curious, willful person who is loyal to friends, tough on enemies and pretty stubborn.

I also found another site that listed a variety of dogs. Some of them were pretty right on. The one that caught my eye was for the Pomeranian. It is the perfect match for Doug. :)

XOXO Daddy

This morning Sydney was saying Daddy and Da Da a lot so we got a picture with him in it and let her give him kisses and hugs. We have done it a few times, but today I had the camera handy to capture the sweet moment. We are hoping that shortly after the new year we should be giving real hugs and kisses to Daddy. Keep your fingers crossed.
